I’ll never forget a vacation to Mazatlan, Mexico with a group of friends and all of us making dinner in the condo we were staying in. I was on guacamole duty and was cutting avocados in half (lengthwise) and scooping out the avocado with a spoon. Simple enough, right? Well one of the girls there was staring at me, and she finally said, “Ohhhh, so that’s how you do it?” I chuckled and asked, “How do you do it?” She proceeded to tell me that said she meticulously peels off the skin and always made a big slippery mess out of it. Now every time I cut into an avocado I giggle and think of that day.

Fast-forward 17 years later … (wow, was it that long ago?) I’m sure most people know how to cut an avocado. But do you know how to dice one?

Here is a short video on how to cut an avocado, remove the pit, and dice it. It is very similar to how I dice a mango. Super easy and less messy.

And speaking of avocados! I have an exciting announcement to make…drum roll please! I’m a weekly food content contributor to Parade Magazine! Can you believe it? I’m pretty darn excited about this.
