papaya margarita

When it comes to margaritas it’s simple really – fresh fruit and good tequila.

The tequila in this margarita is a top of the line tequila called El Mayor. I selected añejo, which is aged for 18 to 36 months and smooth enough for slow sipping.

tropical and exotic fruits for margaritas

The flavor of this tequila is very mild with a sweet hint of caramel and combines beautifully with tropical fruits.

The Brazilian papaya has a beautiful sunny orange hue and thanks to its delicate taste, the papaya is an ideal ingredient for cocktails.

El Mayor Tequila

This exotic tropical papaya margarita is cool, refreshing, and loaded with citrus juices. The jalapeño slices give a slight zing. The rim is sweet with honey and tangy and spicy with a salty, chile powder-rim.

Papaya Margaritas

The rim on this cocktail reminded me of my favorite Mexican chili mango lollipops and transported me to an exotic paradise.

I was so excited to finally fill up my vintage silver glasses I found at a thrift store. They kept the margaritas very cold similar to copper cups for a Moscow mule.

The ice did not melt and the papaya margaritas on the rocks were never watered down. I have a feeling these glasses will be filled with many more margaritas to come this summer.
