Tequila-Infused Peach Sangria

Don’t you love unplanned get-togethers? It seems that the less you plan the better things turn out. That’s exactly what happened Sunday. Our neighbors across the street invited our children over for a water fight with their children. As the kids played in the backyard the adults sipped on margaritas. After a couple of margaritas I remembered that I wanted to photograph a cocktail. So that is when I decided to bring my “party in a box” and photograph a pitcher-style cocktail at their house to share.
I sounded like a gypsy with glass clinking as I crossed the street with my camera around my neck, two bottles of wine, a bottle of Don Julio tequila, a glass pitcher, and glasses. Its a joke with our friends that I’m the token Latina in the neighborhood, and now I’m sure some of the neighbors think I have a drinking problem after witnessing that sight. I was laughing to myself as I was thinking of this quote, “I’m not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings. I’m a drunk, we go to parties.”
I developed my cocktail recipe at their house, raided their cabinets for props, snapped photos in their backyard, and then we all sipped and enjoyed the entire pitcher of this lovely tequila-infused peach sangria. My neighbor even confessed that she was not a fan of sangria, but she changed her mind after drinking this cocktail. Before you know it we were cooking and grilling and enjoying a full-blown family-style dinner. I couldn’t have planned a better evening if I tried. Ok, maybe I could have, but it sure was spontaneous, stress free, and lots of fun. That’s my kinda party!
This pitcher is the ultimate refreshing drink with sweet peaches and the unexpected flavor of basil leaves, which all add up to a delicious summer sangria that will brighten up any fiesta. The secret to this sangria is the peach infused tequila; it adds fruity flavor to a refreshing drink that begs to be shared.
