Happy summer! Are you trying to find ideas to entertain your children? How about coordinating a philanthropic effort as a family? I recently partnered with Land O’Lakes whose tagline is ADD A LITTLE GOOD™. As you know, I believe in enjoying all the foods I love, but in moderation, and when Land O’Lakes shared their tagline with me I knew I wanted to partner with them.

But when you think about – doing good things, it doesn’t have to only be about food. I wanted to spread – some good, no matter how small.

My seven-year-old son has been begging me to host a lemonade stand and when he asked me again that is when it hit me – let’s host a charity stand and donate all the money to No Kid Hungry.

And instead of just serving lemonade, let’s take the idea farther and make aguas frescas. Both of my kids loved the idea and we got to work.

My daughter drew a sign and we made some of our favorite aguas frescas: watermelon, pineapple, and cucumber.

We set up a table in front of our home and lots of neighbors, family, friends, and passersby stopped by to buy a drink.

Our postman stopped, a pizza delivery guy stopped, and some construction and landscape workers stopped. We even met neighbors we had never met. It was great to be outside, share the love of our culture, and know the money donated is going to a great cause. It was a fun family day.
