Share the love on Valentine’s Day and make these delightful, lavender aromatic heart sachets for your amigas. My crafting partner and I adore the way these hearts shaped up; if you look closely you’ll see the sacred heart design. The loosely woven fabric was perfect for creating flaming, frayed ends.

For this DIY we made two sizes, one to hang in a closet and a smaller one to tuck into lingerie drawers.

I plan to place one in my suitcase and travel with it and place it near my pillow. Did you know the aromatherapy of lavender produces calming, soothing, and sedative effects and improves sleep quality?

We used dried lavender buds to fill ours, however, cotton soaked in essential oils would be equally lovely.

Are you ready to create a sweet-scented, fragrant boudoir?

Supplies:

  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Light, loosely woven material
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Scissors
  • Lavender buds

We’ve provided two templates, small and large. Print and cutout templates. For fewer cuts, double the fabric, and fold in half making sure that you’ll have two complete hearts.

Secure the template, also folded in half, to the fabric. Cut along the edges.

Sew the edges together with the outside of the fabric turned in, leaving the top open. Gently pull the inside out.

Fill the hearts with lavender buds and secure the top with ribbon or twine, making a loop to hang if desired. Gently fray the ends using the needle or scissors.

How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
