Persimmon Mojitos
Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE mojitos. I know I’m not Cuban, but I do love all things Latin! The first time I tasted a mojito at a Cuban restaurant I was hooked and started growing wild mint in our garden. Recently my huge mint plant dried up and I felt as if I lost a very dear friend. I said farewell to my beloved mint plant but not adios to mojitos. I can always purchase mint at a local grocer.
Jeanine (our photographer) said she made Persimmon Mojitos and I was all ears. Can you imagine how thrilled I was when she shared her recipe along with her amazing photography for this autumn cocktail? All I could picture was gorgeous fall persimmons and summer mint leaves dancing together like a Latin hottie dancing in a bikini while wearing a pair of UGG boots. Um, okay maybe not the best of analogies, but hopefully you get the point. Its summer and autumn rolled into one delightful cocktail.
And there is a virgin recipe below! Let’s all toast to Fall…Salud!

wow, thanks!! I love mojitos! And pretty much any other cocktail for that matter!
I think that with every cocktail there is a cliche that you associate with it and want to be part of.
For example, whenever I drink a cosmopolitan I always imagine myself as one of the girls in sex and the city, sitting by a bar in new york feeling very sophisticated!!
thanks for the great post and recipe!
check out my blog!!

Leanne: Too funny! I do that same when I drink a cosmo!
Ya know, I’ve never had a mojito. I must try one soon. Great photos and nice blog you have here.
Interestingly, it will be implemented… 🙂

Wow, now I know how to use of my neighbour’s persimmon tree! She keeps on offering me persimmons (called kaki fruit here in Spain), and this is a great receipe for all that fruit. Thanks!!
Sounds gorgeous – I think I’ll have to try one of these! Thanks for the recipe.
This looks superb! I’m a mojito fan as well, and anything Cuban and Latin too! 🙂
Can’t beat a Moijito

Y-U-M! Thanks for sharing!
yum, and I have recently acquired a persimmon from a friend…
Why would anyone need to BE of a certain tribe to enjoy/participate/appreciate some aspect of that tribes memetic heritage? We’re all human. Humanity can transcend tribal boundaries every generation, they don’t mean anything.
Culture isn’t biological. I love Mojitos too. As I do Preserved Eggs from China, Proscuitto, and Esrom Cheese. It’s like saying, I’m not Japanese but I love Sushi. Or, I’m not Italian but I sure love Lasagna. What?
I’m glad you agree that all food is for all. From one Mojito lover to another, Salud!!
its look so fresh….!!!!
i want it i want it i want it !!!!!
Omg.. mojitos and persimmons might just be my most favorite things ever (aside from yams.. but those 3 might not mix so well…)
This is making my mouth water! I’ve never had a Persimmon Mojito, but I LOVE Mojitos! Definitely one to try.
The first mojito I ever tasted was a wine cooler. I can’t remember if I was B and J or Seagrams. It was so nasty that I had to add two tsps of sugar and then it became my favorite. Consequently, if I have to add something to a store bought drink, then maybe I don’t need to buy it.
What a gorgeous drink, this one above is. Well, maybe mojitos are supposed to be on the tart side, but I will definitely have to give this one a try.
Looks Yummy! Thanks
