What is Agua de Pepino?
Agua de pepino, or cucumber agua fresca, is a light and refreshing Mexican drink made by blending fresh cucumbers with water, lime juice, and a touch of sweetener. It’s a delicious way to stay hydrated, offering a crisp, cooling flavor that’s perfect for warm weather.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Refreshing & Hydrating: Cucumbers are over 90% water, making this drink super hydrating and thirst-quenching.
Light & Low-Calorie: At about 100 calories per serving, this cucumber water recipe is a guilt-free way to cool off.
Customizable Sweetness: Adjust the sugar to your taste—more for a sweeter version, less for a milder one, or omit it altogether for a naturally refreshing drink.
Kid-Friendly: Even little ones love this lightly sweetened agua de pepino!
Easy to Make: Just blend, strain, and serve!

What is Agua Fresca?
Aguas frescas are refreshing Mexican beverages made by blending fresh fruits (or in this case, cucumbers) with water and a bit of sugar. Unlike store-bought juices or sodas, they’re naturally hydrating and made with simple, wholesome ingredients.

Ingredients & Substitutions
The complete list of ingredients, quantities, and instructions can be found in the printable recipe card below.

- Cucumber: Large cucumbers work best. If you want a vibrant green agua de pepino, leave the peel on when blending. I recommend organic cucumbers and suggest using regular slicing cucumbers rather than English cucumbers.
- Water: The base of any agua fresca! Adjust the amount to achieve your desired consistency.
- Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice adds a zesty kick that enhances the flavor.
- Sugar: A touch of granulated sugar balances the flavors, but you can adjust the sweetness to your preference or swap it with honey or agave.
