It’s so hard to believe that May is already here, which means its time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I recently had the opportunity to visit San Antonio and celebrate early with San Antonio’s Fiesta. The fiesta is a 10-day citywide party filled with cascarones, mariachis, folklorico dancers, parades, culture, art, and food galore. I used to live in San Antonio and I could not believe how much it has grown. I fell in love with the city all over again and was overwhelmed with the colorful history and cultural diversity.
While there I realized celebrations have a common theme — comida (food). And comida is what brings everyone together. As much as I wish I could take everyone on our exciting food and travel adventures the best we can do is share our food adventures with you via videos on our blog. And speaking of videos we have teamed with Denver Promo and will soon be sharing some of our very own cooking videos. Stay tuned!
Please sit back and enjoy this video showcasing avocados as an invited guest to a fiesta. Learn how to make a simple Portobello mushroom and avocado panini and see the beauty of keeping Latin traditions alive.

I love visiting your blog! Your pictures are phenomenal and the recipes are too good!
You are beautiful, Yvette! I loved the video, and so did my three year old! Made me long for the sights, smells and tastes of our Latino culture even more. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience and these amazing avocado recipes (ummm, yum!). Definitely keep making those videos, because they rock!
I am full after having dinner, but my mouth was watering the whole time I was reading your post! I really am excited about the Cinci de Mayo Paletas – gotta try them. In Delores Hidalgo, Guanaguato, my twe favorite ice cream flavors were corn and avocado!
I love avocados and have some ripening on my table right now. I typically eat them in salad or as guacamole, but I wouldn’t have thought of muffins! Some really interesting ideas here. Thank you!
I loved that video, Yvette – how fun (and you look gorgeous)! This is a mouthwatering selection of dishes…I’d definitely like one of everything. Thanks for including my paletas 🙂
