Can you believe it? Memorial weekend is fast approaching. I can’t believe it. We just had snow in Colorado, so it doesn’t quite feel like May to me yet.

Are you hosting a BBQ or going to a potluck?

This cheese platter is patriotic without being literal. I thought about making a red, white, and blue flag shape similar to this Christmas tree cheese board, but instead, we styled it to be have the colors of the American flag with star shaped watermelon, cheese, and grilled flour tortillas sprinkled throughout.

All the cheeses displayed are made by Cabot – they even sell pre-sliced cheese, which makes this cheese platter even easier to make. My favorite cheeses are pepper jack and white cheddar – I’m a bit addicted to both! Feel free to display your favorite cheeses.

Let Memorial Day be a day to count our blessings and remember those who serve to protect our country and our freedom. My warmest wishes on Memorial Day and deepest gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice of our fallen heroes.
