Summer Fiesta with Infused Vodkas
Warm weather and barbecue season are finally here. June is my favorite month! Sure it might have something to do with it being my birthday, but more importantly it’s an excuse to entertain outdoors.
Smirnoff recently contacted me, asking if I’d be interested in hosting a party and sampling their new sorbet-inspired vodkas. How can I say no to that? I needed an excuse to host a fiesta to celebrate summer and this was perfect.
My hubby, mom, and I planned a delicious menu. My hubby made finger-licking slow smoked pork ribs, my mom and I made chicken teriyaki and beef shish kabobs, and my mom also made her famous macaroni salad, which I plan to post soon. Of course we canโt have a party without frijoles de la olla, guacamole, salsa casera, and pico de gallo. We also served strawberry shortcake for dessert. And we can’t forget about our guest of honor — Smirnoff Sorbet Light.
I set up a little bar and my cousin Adam (yes, heโs over 21) played bartender and made some cocktails and other guests experimented making their own creations too. I also made a couple of punch bowls for guests to self-serve.
The new sorbet-inspired full-flavored vodkas are cool and refreshing made with natural fruit flavors, no artificial colors or fake sweeteners, and the best part is they only have 78 calories per serving. They are perfect for a summer soirรฉe. I had the impression that these drinks were going to be too girly but the guys really liked the drinks too. Everyone showed up wearing sorbet colors to match the theme and anxious to sample the cocktails. We all had a great time and my only regret was not making enough food and or having more vodka. I should have known better, my amigos and familia love to eat and drink.
I strive to lead a balanced lifestyle, but never at the expense of a delicious cocktail. Iโd highly recommend these guilt-free sorbet-inspired vodkas for your next fiesta โ they have three flavors to choose from: Raspberry Pomegranate, Mango Passion fruit, and Lemon. I enjoy easy cocktails when Iโm hosting a party and these gave me that luxury to mingle and enjoy my guests.
First of all I need to thank the weather gods for being on my side. Normally when I host a fiesta it’s sure to rain or snow (remember my Candlemas dinner)? I also want to thank Smirnoff for supplying the vodka, and I want to thank all of our friends and family who celebrated with us.

Looks like it was a wonderful time! Happy Belated Birthday, hope you enjoyed it. These drinks sound great and will be just what I need for my next neighborhood get together.
I was just working on the menu for a girls’ night on Friday. With my daughter’s wedding fast approaching, we’re having a pre-wedding bridal hairdo night so my daughter can try on her veil and see what works. I was thinking of martinis but this sounds better! Thanks for the suggestion!
Yummy idea Margo! Have a blast in Scottsdale. Through the stress and joy, through the tears and excitement…I’ll be thinking about you, the beautiful mother of the bride. Congratulations!
